Why cold-pressed hempseed oil suits a compromised skin barrier

Hempseed oil arrives at roughly a 3:1 ratio of linoleic to alpha-linolenic acid — close to what the skin's own barrier lipids favour. That is why it absorbs without the occlusive, heavy feel of a mineral-oil base.

Cold pressing matters because heat degrades the same fatty acids you are paying for. Our press runs below 45°C and the oil goes into formulation within 30 days.

In formulation we pair it with shea for structure rather than more oil. The result is a butter that reads rich on application and matte an hour later.
